Our History

2007

Built a community-driven app for Manchester City Council - the Manchester Volunteer Sports Bureau (VSB)

We started working with our first two universities here in Manchester, developing a way to share opportunities between the city council and the students. This established our early belief in the importance of open data and sharing opportunities

Our first, now annual, volunteer managers conference in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, where speakers from the London Olympics and Step Up to Serve shared their knowledge and experience

Integrated a new module named AccessKinetic. This enabled accreditation pass printing and volunteer profiling for events

2017

Started work with WCVA and this saw the inception of our ‘Orbit’ architecture, which enables seamless sharing of volunteer and opportunity data

2019

Established the first data-sharing API to Volunteer Scotland via Salesforce. Won our first significant grant with Innovate UK - the Kindocoin SBRI Challenge

2020

Proud to win awards with TechForce-19 and the iNetwork. Also received nominations at the Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards

2021

The Health Innovation Network South London and ASHN Network evaluated our work.

2022

We were one of the founding partners in the Mobilising UK Voluntary Action research, as well as undertaking our own research across the Liverpool City Region, looking at how locality-based and national services can work more effectively through improved interoperability
